I am interested in hosting a hippotherapy networking group for northern IL/ SW WI area. Meetings could include video case studies, idea sharing, touring other HPOT facilities, billing/ documentation topics, or anything else that is of interest. We all have such different knowledge and experience lets learn from each other!
Our barn is located in Maple Park, IL (45 min W of chicago) and would be willing to host the first meeting. Horse professionals/ handlers welcome!
Please let me know if you are interested and what dates you may be available in Sept/ Oct 2008.

Thanks & look forward to hearing from you.

re: hip subluxation

Hi Annette,

Sorry for the delayed reply...I am not in the habit of checking this new forum! At any rate in the apppendix of your Treatment Principles Level I manual are the NARHA precautions and contraindications. Please look under the heading of Cerebral Palsy. You may want to purchase a current NARHA standards manual as these are updated on a bi-annual basis. That said it does mention hip subluxation/dislocation as a precaution when stitting astride may be difficult and hip alignment may be compromised. So essentially yes, it is taken on an individual basis and you as the therapy need to decide if this is the optimal treamtent setting for that individual.

Hope that helps!
